| All Membrane Brine Concentrator (AMBC) Modern Water has two different patented processes for high brine concentration, derived from our understanding of forward osmosis technology and our expertise in osmotic pressure driven membrane separation technology. We developed these two technologies primarily to meet the requirements for generating high osmotic pressure solutions in forward osmosis processes, especially in concentration applications. The process uses only electricity to drive the pump, which is pressure driven and cleverly designed. The pressure in the process is similar to that of traditional seawater reverse osmosis, but it can produce concentrated brine with an osmotic pressure equivalent to 160,000 mg/l NaCl concentration. |
