Product Description: For many years, baghouses have been the main filtration mechanism for dust collectors. These are increasingly being replaced by newer technologies such as long cartridges (or pleated media) in folded bags. Pleated filter media generally offer some advantages over conventional filter media. The pleats greatly increase the surface area of the filter, thereby reducing the ratio of air to cloth in the same space. Deep pocket layers made of woven fabric improve dust retention. In addition, due to the short overall length of the filter bag, the pleated filter bag remains above the intake airflow, reducing wear caused by incoming dust particles. Pleated bags are designed to replace the filter bag type bag filters used in many dust collectors. In general, pleated filters can be manufactured to fit most existing baghouses without extensive redesign. Folding bags can be easily installed into unit plates of various sizes for top and bottom load dust collectors.
